Two Crestview Residents Are Behind Bars After Drug Raid

Crestview, FL –  A Crestview man has been charged with four felonies by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit following an investigation into the illegal distribution of controlled substances which began last September.

11-3-16-ocso-drugsThe OCSO investigation led to obtaining a search warrant for 4624 Scarlet Drive which is located off of Live Oak Church Rd, withing 1,000 feet of Live oak Baptist Church. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators searched a safe within the residence. Inside the safe, investigators recovered approximately 77 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 52 grams of marijuana, numerous prescription narcotics, $2,250 in cash in denominations ranging from 1’s to 20’s, assorted paraphernalia, and evidence of a small scale indoor marijuana grow operation. Some of the above drugs were packaged in jeweler’s bags to be sold. Also inside the safe was documents belonging to 35 year old Jacy Dane McCuiston.

Jacy D. McCuiston of 2467 Lakeview Drive was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a church (Live Oak Baptist Church), possession of a controlled substance (prescription medication) with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a church, possession of drug paraphernalia, introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, and violation of probation. A key to the safe was located on McCuiston’s person.

Also discovered in the residence was several doses of Alprazolam (Xanax) and Clonazepam (Klonopin). Those two drugs were located in a small jeweler’s bag on top of a dresser in the bedroom Ashley Varnum occupies. The dresser also contained clothing belonging to Varnum. Varnum stated post Miranda that she did not have a prescription for the pills.
