Two burglary suspects are behind bars after one of them left their phone at a bar in Freeport.
On May 25th Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at a home on Woodlawn Road where a firearm, Play Station, jewelry, tools, and other items were taken.
Just three days following the incident a cell phone was left at the Outpost Bar in Freeport. After further investigation it was found on the Facebook Messenger App several conversations about buying and selling illegal narcotics. It was later discovered the phone belonged to a Jacob Jennings Dixon, 22, of Freeport.
August 4th WCSO obtained a search warrant for the phone later revealing Dixon was attempting to trade the stolen items from the burglary for illegal narcotics.
Thanks to the forgetfulness of Jacob Jennings Dixon, 22, he and Bethanie Lynn Pearman, 24, were arrested after both admitted to being in the home the day it was burglarized. Neither admitted to committing the acts; instead blamed each other and a third party.
Both were arrested early Friday morning on charges of burglary of a dwelling, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property. Deputies are still trying to locate a third suspect for an interview and possible arrest.
