Milton Woman Sentenced in Largest Heroin Bust in Santa Rosa County

State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that on December 6, 2016, a Santa Rosa County Jury found Monica Nicole-Gonzalez Jones, 37 years of age, guilty of Trafficking in Heroin, Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell.

On October 8, 2015, Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office Narcotic’s Unit and SWAT team executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence on Arlingwood Drive in Milton, Florida. During the search warrant, law enforcement located 46 grams of heroin, 23 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 23 grams of pyrrolidinovalerophenone (PVP). This is the largest amount of heroin recovered by law enforcement in Santa Rosa County to date. Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators obtained the search warrant after conducting several undercover purchases of heroin from the defendant.

Monica Nicole-Gonzalez Jones will be sentenced on December 29, 2016 before the Honorable Ross Goodman. Jones faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years and a maximum sentence of 75 years state prison. A minimum mandatory sentence means she will serve at least 25 years in prison.
