Milton Man Sentenced To Life Behind Bars For Sexual Battery and Molesting A Child

State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that Sonny Lee Scallion was sentenced by Circuit Judge John F. Simon, Jr. to life sentences on all three counts of which he was convicted. The judge ran the sentences concurrent and the defendant was also designated as Sexual Predator.

Scallion was convicted on October 6, 2015 by a Santa Rosa County Jury of two counts of Sexual Battery- Victim Less Than 12 Years of Age and one count of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation- Victim Less Than 12 Years of Age.

Scallion committed the offenses upon the child at his home in Milton when the child was between 5 and 7 years of age. The abuse was originally reported to the Crestview Police Department and the case was subsequently investigated by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department.

The investigation was conducted by Detective Melissa Spratt of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and the case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Stephanie G. Pace.
