Known and respected, far and wide, Finith truly cared about the well-being and success of all he met. Always ready with a humorous quip, he left all he met with a smile on their face. We all benefit from his wisdom and support.
In his lifetime, Finith grew from backwoods boy, to a leader of men, to attorney and professor. He loved the mountains, Crestview, his kids, and most of all loved his wife. All that know him know that he will always be with us in spirit, pushing us to do more than we ever thought possible.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers: Clyde, and Emmett; three sisters: Effie Hart, Gladys Stephens, and Estelle Livingston; and one daughter, Revida Bode. He is survived by Vanita, his sweetheart of 65 years.
He leaves a large and diverse group of offspring including a daughter, Terese Daphine Coverstone of Boise, Idaho; two sons: Finith Ewin Jernigan, II of Salisbury, Maryland, and Floyd Edsil Jernigan of Waco, Texas; twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service held for Finith on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview, Florida. Visitation will be at 10 am followed by a celebration of Finith’s life at 11 am. The family is requesting that instead of flowers donations be made to the Air Force Widows Home in Shalimar, Florida.
