Fatal Wreck In Santa Rosa County Claims The Life Of A Navarre Woman

A Navarre woman is the victim of a fatal wreck early this morning in South Santa Rosa County.

56 year old Sherry Vitale of Navarre, FL succumbed to her injuries after she collided with another vehicle driven by 29 year old Rachel Price of Gulf Breeze just before 1 am this morning.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol News Release, Vitale was driving East in the inside Westbound lane of traffic on US Highway 98 in her 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier and Price was traveling westbound on US 98 in the inside lane in a 2011 Honda Pilot.

The left front corner of Vitale’s Chevrolet collided with the front of Price’s Honda. As a result, both vehicles rotated counter clockwise and came to final rest in the westbound inside lane of US 98.

Vitale succumbed to her injuries at the scene and Price and her 2 year old passenger were both transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola and are in serious condition.

Both Price and Vitale were wearing seatbelts and the 2 year old passenger was in a child restraint device.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident and charges are pending.
