Donna Mae Hancock, 89, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Crestview, Florida, quietly passed away July 13, 2016 at the Brookdale Monument Valley Park Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born Dec. 29, 1926 in Lexington, Illinois to Clifford and LeVeda McNemire Stretch.
Her husband, Ralph E. Hancock, preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1996. Two of her sisters, Betty Stretch and Eva Wingler (Bishop); and one brother, Robert Stretch, also preceded her in death.
Survivors are two daughters, Bobbie Wolfe (Warren), Colorado Springs, and Bessie Wisler (Rick) of DeFuniak Springs; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Stretch (Alice) of Moultrie, Ga.
Donna moved to Colorado Springs in 2013. She retired from Winter Park General Water Works in the early 1980s. She moved to Crestview after her husband passed away.
She was a member of two Red Hat Society groups: The Dazzling Divas of Crestview and Rocky Mount Red Hot Toppers of Colorado Springs. She was also a member of the dance group Silver Threads of Crestview, which performed for nursing homes in Crestview and Northwest Florida.
A celebration of her life is at 5 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Victorious Life Church on US Highway 85 West, where she was a member.
A private family service will be held at Liveoak Cemetery in Crestview, with Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home handling local arrangements.
