Hurricane Michael Recovery

by Jennifer Bearden

Florida Panhandle – We all know that our neighbors to the east are suffering after taking a direct hit from massive Hurricane Michael.  Many in our community are asking, “What can I do”.

We have an opportunity for those who would like to help.  UF IFAS Extension has offices in every county in the state.  Extension Agents from Okaloosa County will be traveling to these hard hit counties to help with damage assessments along with carrying loads of recovery supplies.

Recovery supplies will be taken to these counties in need every day during the week of October 15 through 19.  Specifically requested supplies include tarps and lumber and hardware to secure these tarps.

Drop off locations will be the Okaloosa County Extension office at 3098 Airport Road in Crestview and 4-H Camp Timpoochee at 4750 Timpoochee Lane in Niceville.
