Fatal Motorcycle Accident Closes Hwy 90 at Old Bethel Rd for Several Hours

Crestview, FL – A fatal accident that occurred at the intersection of Hwy 90 W and Old Bethel Rd Tuesday Afternoon claimed the life of a 44 year old Crestview man.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release 61 year old Talmadge Lee Johnson of Crestview was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Truck traveling east on Hwy 90 W. 44 year old Barry Gene Stallings also of Crestview was operating a 2013 Harley Davidson Motorcycle traveling west on Hwy 90 W.

Johnson was stopped in the eastbound left turn lane on U.S. Hwy 90 at the intersection of Old Bethel Rd waiting to turn onto Old Bethel Rd. Johnson attempted to make a left turn and pulled into the path of Stallings.

According to the accident report, the front of Stallings motorcycle collided with the passenger side of Johnson’s truck.

Stallings, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview where he succumbed to his injuries.

The report did state alcohol was not a factor in the accident and charges are pending the conclusion of the traffic homicide investigation.
